In order to administer insurance products purchased through this website, Securian Canada collects, uses and discloses certain personal information. By using the website, you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information in accordance with Securian Canada’s Privacy Statement.
In order to facilitate the offering of these insurance products, PolicyMe also collects, uses and discloses certain personal information. By using the website, you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information by PolicyMe in accordance with the Privacy Policy below. You also acknowledge that PolicyMe may share certain personal information with Securian Canada in order to permit Securian Canada to administer insurance products offered and sold through this website.

If your application for insurance coverage is accepted and you purchase coverage, you will be provided with the applicable insurance contract, the terms of which will govern the specific insurance which you have purchased (a “Purchased Coverage”).

Accordingly, you should review this Privacy Policy from time to time to keep informed of such amendments. This may also include your authorized representatives, health care services and practitioners (such as Dynacare), service partners (such as referral partners that direct you to our Website), public sources such as government agencies and internet searches, and other insurance companies who you have authorized to share recent application information with us, and other third parties who you have authorized to share information with us.
- Through Marketing Communications: From time to time, we may obtain your consent to send you email, SMS text messages and other communications about our, products, services, or events that may be of interest to you. You can opt-out of receiving marketing and promotional email from us by following the unsubscribe instructions contained in each of our email communications.

Call Recordings

We make use of automated decision-making tools/artificial intelligence (AI) applications for various business purposes, including evaluating the underwriting risk of insurance applications. We also use de-identified data for the purpose of developing new products and services, analyzing and improving our services and Website, and training and developing AI models for other machine -learning purposes (including for purposes of marketing, sales outreach, content generation, customer communications, underwriting efficiency, and predictive modeling). For clarity, “de-identified data” means we’ve removed personal identifiers such as names and date of birth such that the data cannot be traced back to an individual.
With respect to underwriting, a Prospective Client’s application may be automatically approved or declined by our AI systems, or transferred to a professional underwriter for a manual review. We may use third parties such as ad exchanges and data companies to serve our advertisements on our Website or other websites. When you apply for insurance with one of our partner companies, we provide your account information to the respective life insurance company to fulfill the application and provide a Purchased Coverage. We also notify them of any updates or changes to your account information. We may use third-party vendors to assist us with monitoring and analyzing our Website’s activity, operations and marketing assistance, hosting the Website, and maintaining our database. Some of these service providers will be located outside of Canada. We may share your Information with these Third-Party Vendors but only as necessary for them to perform their functions and to the extent permitted by law. Use of your Information by these Third-Party Vendors is governed by their own privacy policies and procedures and not by this Privacy Policy.
We and our Canadian third-party service providers may provide your Personal Information in response to a search warrant or other legally valid inquiry or order, or to another organization for the purposes of investigating a breach of an agreement or contravention of law or detecting, suppressing or preventing fraud, or as otherwise required or permitted by applicable Canadian or other law (which may include lawful access requests by Canadian or other foreign courts, law enforcement or governmental authorities). We also share certain information with the sponsor of the insurance plan, about coverage requested, issued or terminated. This information is used for administrative and reporting purposes, as well as to improve the member experience.
Joint Insurance Applications
By submitting a joint insurance application, you give permission to us to disclose or communicate details related to your application with your partner. You are allowing us to communicate personal information such as the status of your application or coverage, information disclosed as part of the application, results of any associated follow up requirements, your billing details, etc. It does not provide authority for your partner to make changes to your coverage on your behalf such as changing your beneficiaries or cancelations.
Requests by Others for Your Account Information or Account Changes
Unless we have a signed authorization on your file that provides us with your consent to provide your account information to another party, we will not do so. Sometimes partners, advisors, estate administrators and other reach out to us requesting information on, or to make changes to, your Purchased Coverage. In order to provide them with this information or ability, you will need to have provided us with their name and identifying information prior to their request and we will use that information to assess the validity of their request for access. If at any time, we are unable to verify such person’s identity, we will not discuss any aspect of your Purchased Coverage with such person.
In the event an estate administrator or another person similarly entitled to details of your Purchased Coverage requires information on your coverage, such requests must be made in writing (by email) at the contact information available on the website and we will require evidence of identity and legal entitlement before providing such information. We endeavor to answer all such requests within 30 days.
How Do We Protect Personal Information?

Access and Rights to Personal Information
You have the right to access the Personal Information we hold about you in order to verify the Personal Information we have collected in respect to you and to have a general account of our uses of that information. Upon receipt of your written request, we will provide you with a copy of your Personal Information, although in certain limited circumstances, and as permitted under law, we may not be able to make all relevant information available to you , such as where that information also pertains to another user. In some cases, sensitive medical information may only be disclosed to a health care provider. In such circumstances we will provide reasons for the denial to you upon request. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from Minors . If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Minor has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from minors without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information from our servers.
Rights to Change Coverage
We may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. Use of Personal Information we collect is subject to the Privacy Policy in effect at the time such information is collected, used or disclosed.
